New lease of life for stinky shoes Verified Purchase

After seeing a bunch of Instagram ads, I decided to bite the bullet and buy some Shoe Chalk online — and I must say, they live up to the hype.

I've had my shoes since December 2023 but had only done 2 deep cleans and they were starting to stink. To combat the smell, I started spraying them with a homemade mixture of tea tree oil and rubbing alcohol after each use. But after doing this continually for 2 months, it still wasn't enough to quell the stench.

But after using Shoe Chalk as instructed, the smell is virtually gone and my shoes look noticeably cleaner. I would highly recommend Shoe Chalk to any and all climbers as it's easy to use and good value. It's a shame they're not stocked in more climbing centres, as they're way cheaper than Boot Bananas, which are more common (at least where I tend to climb).

Miracle product ?

Got myself the full cleaning kit after having seen them in a local climbing wall. The brush is super handy and shaped perfectly for getting down into the toe box and giving the heel a good scrub. I have quite sweaty feet when climbing so my shoes get smelly pretty quickly. I wasn’t sure that the shoe chalk would have a massive effect but when I saw the foam bubbling out of my shoes and the colour of the water after giving them a rinse I was quite impressed. They aren’t completely smell free but the difference of before and after is quite impressive. It has definitely prolonged the life of my favourite shoes, and I’m sure the person that will shortly be resoling them will be happy that they aren’t stinking!

Instructions

To use Shoe Chalk to clean your climbing shoes, you will need to follow these steps:

Place the block of Shoe Chalk in your climbing shoe.
Add warm water to the shoe, allowing the Shoe Chalk to dissolve and create a cleaning solution.
Stand for 60-120 seconds to allow the block to dissolve to foam and penetrate the inside of your shoe.
Scrub the inside of your shoe with a brush, using circular motions to loosen and remove dirt and other debris.
Rinse your shoe with water to remove the cleaning solution and any remaining debris.
Allow your shoe to air dry before wearing it again.*

By following these steps, you can effectively use Shoe Chalk to clean your climbing shoes, helping to maintain their cleanliness and performance.
